Com’è da titolo, disastro completo.
Ordinato e arrivato ottobre 2018,
Montato immediatamente e perfettamente funzionante……….
Purtroppo lunedì 7 gennaio 2019 mi ha lasciato, non è stato più riconosciuto dal sistema, ho provato a collegarlo ad altri computer ma niente, morto, irrimediabilmente morto!!!!!!
E con esso tutti i miei dati che vi erano contenuti. Un danno enorme perché erano contenuti i lavori e i progetti di oltre un anno di lavoro.
Che dire, non compratelo per nessun motivo se non volete trovarvi nel giro di pocho tempo in guai irreversibili

Impossibile caricare il contenuto multimediale.
 I got this for a late 2011 Macbook Pro. My laptop was dreadfully slow. I used a stopwatch to see how long it takes to boot up till the lockscreen with my older drive and it was 1 minute and 38 seconds.
Installed the SSD, restored from time machine backup and VOILA. It takes just 13 seconds to get to the lockscreen now. This is madness.
This is magic. Highly recommended.

The product is cost effective, comes with 5 years warranty, and includes everything that is needed for its installation in any laptop running SATA hard-disk. If your laptop has standard 1 TB hard-disk, just replace it with 500GB Crucial MX500 SSD and you will literally be blown away by the change in performance. My son, who is a second year Engineering student, had thrown away a Dec, 2018 HP Model (Intel i5 Processor-8GB RAM-1TB HDD) laptop running Windows 10 just because it used to take 5 minutes to boot properly and then every app used to run only after two-three minutes upon clicking. Google Chrome was unable to run 4 tabs at a time, sometimes even tending to hang-up if a video was played from YouTube. Now that same laptop boots and logs in inside 10 seconds and Photoshop 2018 CC completely loads and works inside 15 seconds! My son is willing to bet that his laptop performance is now as good as models costing 1.25 lakh (or more). This is an honest, tried and tested review by a father who was almost ready to buy another laptop.

Non sono un intenditore ne un tecnico e sono stato in grado di montarlo. Basta far fare tutto all’appicazione e svitare 4 viti esatte e riprendere il lavoro da dove si è lasciato. Unica nota negativa è che il software gestionale di Crucial non funziona e addirittura mi ha mandato in crash l’ssd bloccandolo si schermata nera e costringendomi a rifare la formattazione e clonazione. Quindi non è stata una operazione di circa 1 ora bensì molto di più. Quindi non posso beneficiare della promessa Crucial di rendere ancora più efficiente il mio Ssd di 10 volte. Anche provando a scaricare il software dal sito e da altri siti non mi è stato possibile avviarlo. NON scaricate quello dal sito Micron perché mi manderà in crisi l’SSd, quindi lasciare tutto com’è se non sapete cosa state facendo.
Il mio Asus N56VZ è rinato con tempi di avvio più rapidi e di accesso molto più rapido alle applicazioni . Penso che sia un upgrade economico e che fa la differenza su di una macchina con molti anni di lavoro sulle spalle.
Upgrade che rifarei senza pensarci.
Aggiornamento : dopo 5 giorni ha smesso di funzionare dandomi schermata nera ! Fine dell’entusiasmo.
Per ben due volte e due formattazioni Mi appare la scritta BLinitializelibrary fail etc etc . Ho provato a cercare soluzioni fai da te ma alla fine ho dovuto rendere il prodotto. Farò un altro tentativo con altra marca perché riconosco le potenziLita ssd. Amazon sempre pronta a risolvere il problema.

Il disco funziona nel case USB ma non c’è stato verso di farlo funzionare nel mio portatile Samsung dove già avevo un SSD Samsung da 500 GB.
Il forum Crucial ha molti casi come il mio con w10 che si blocca dopo pochi secondi o al massimo minuti…..
Mi sono stancato di fare prove e ho chiesto il reso.. a proposito sono un programmatore con 20 anni di esperienza….
Se avete un sistema vecchio di qualche anno fate attenzione….

Comprato per aggiornare un macbook pro del 2012. L’installazione è andata benissimo. Purtroppo, dopo un paio di avvii non proprio velocissimi, il computer si è bloccato ed al successivo riavvio non veniva più riconosciuto. Dopo vari inutili tentativi di ripristino ho dovuto fare il reso. Devo dire che il venditore è stato gentilissimo e pronto ad aiutarmi. Quindi un plauso ad Amazon ma anche, e soprattutto, al venditore!

Il disco, arrivato nei tempi previsti e perfettamente sigillato, è stato montato su un laptop Fujitsu top di gamma al posto del disco principale, mostrando delle ottime performance di velocità .
All’inizio tutto ha funzionato a dovere, ma dopo un paio di giorni, ha mostrato problemi di compatibilità con il firmware UEFI: dopo un warm boot il disco non veniva più riconosciuto dal firmware UEFI e l’unico modo era lanciare il sistema con il normale BIOS.
Eseguendo un cold boot, invece, il disco venica normalmente riconosciuto.
Ho provato con un altro SSD preso in prestito e non ho avuto alcun problema. Evidentemente c’è un problema con il firmware del disco (che però era già aggiornato all’ultima versione) oppure si è verificato un qualche tipo di guasto nel disco dopo pochi giorni dall’installazione.
Ho dovuto restituitrlo…peccato!

J’ai acheté un disque SSD. J’ai pu constaté à réception que l’étiquette de garantie constructeur n’était plus vierge.
Mais pire que cela, comme le montre les photos le vendeur a tenté de masquer la violation de l’étiquette de garantie en collant 2 à 3 étiquettes au dessus de l’étiquette constructeur.
En plus, le spacer qui doit être fourni dans la boite était absent.

Premessa: le prove sono state fatte su più schede madri con varie condizioni con il paragone di altri ssd e con il supporto dei programmi di diagnostica per ssd. Il disco passa tutti i test di stress semplice, di scansione superficie di copia ecc ecc. Ma quando ha troppe attività di i/o quindi troppi iops il disco entra in crisi e genera errori: Current pending sector count 0 1 0 1. In pratica inizia ad avere problemi con le code per troppi iops e se peggiore si perde i dati o si disconnette. Cosa che altri ssd di altri produttori ed altri dischi dello stesso produttore non fanno. E’ scontato che il supporto del produttore è totalmente inutile e su internet altri hanno lo stesso problema e hanno risolto facendo sparire il check. Io nei test sono riuscito a bloccare il disco quindi per me non è una soluzione far sparire il controllo anche perchè effettivamente riesco a bloccarlo questo dimostra che il disco sotto quel tipo di stress si blocca. Altri ssd non fanno l’errore e non si bloccano nelle medesime condizioni di test. Quindi per me tale modello è inaffidabile e restituito ad amazon.
Nuova aggiunta: il problema da me riscontrato è noto al produttore da oltre un anno e molti su internet lamentano lo stesso
mio problema e nessuno ha trovato una soluzione valida ed il firmware attuale uscito dopo le prime lamentele non ha corretto il problema. Visto che durante i test sono riuscito a bloccarlo sotto stess proprio per il problema rilevato a questo punto lo sconsiglio tassativamente a chiunque. Ora cambiato con altro produttore i test sono tutti validi e non ci sono errore. A tal punto è incontestabile la mia lamentela sull’affidabilità negativa del prodotto.

After 4 weeks drive failed asked for refund or replacement was sent a link to crucial to try and RMA it through crucial I’m actually shocked and quit disgusted if it was pc world or argos you would take it back and get either a replacement or a refund no problem they wouldn’t tell you to contact the manufacture after only owning it 4 weeks you have 12 mouths by law!! I’m never going to use 3rd party sellers on amazon ever again its just not worth the hassle when things go wrong ;-(…
Originally I gave this ssd a five star review as installation of window 10 went fine and I had no problems at first but after about 17 days I restarted my pc to find windows wouldn’t boot and It just kept booting into bios so I ran windows repair, this allowed me to boot into windows but 2 days later same thing happened again but this time it was unable to repair….
I’ve never had a problem with this copy of Windows I’ve used it many time’s on many machines never an issue but I had to format and install windows again witch went fine until it restarted during usual driver installation then I was back to no OS detected I used windows cd got into windows ran error check no problems found with windows rebooted and I was back to bios tried force boot this worked once then did nothing so I installed windows again this was actually the 4th time I’ve installed windows on this ssd in less than 4 weeks but it’s happening again during installation reboots I had to keep shutting pc to finish the install and last night I tried opening a picture on my desktop but was told unable to open due to hdd file corruption yet file check says everythings fine after a few tries it opened fine so I’m almost 100% certain there is a big problem with this ssd my pc worked brilliant for 3 years on a cheap 120gb ssd that still continues to work fine I just needed more space on my OS drive so upgraded I changed no settings in my bios other than boot order during installation and if I plug in my old ssd my pc work’s great again!!
Since I last installed Windows I’ve had to keep putting pc to sleep because I’m actually semi disabled an I fair shouting it down will mean i may not get it running again and I have no TV or dvd in my house everything runs through the pc so it’s become a bit of a problem to point I’m going to pay someone to install my old ssd so I can send this one back for a refund i just wish I’d acted sooner unfortunately it’s taken 4 weeks and 3 days to make sure it was the ssd that’s defective but hopefully I will be able to get a refund as I feel unease about using this brand again and I really can’t keep formatting my pc it’s to much stress 😔….

SSD is very different from HDD. It is important to understand the difference before buying.
HDD is like plain empty space where you keep filling data in FIFO manner.(First In First Out).
SSD on the other hand is like a “mini-computer” in itself. It is not just an empty space to fill. There is hundreds of operations that happens when writing and reading the data. There is a dedicated micro-computer/processor inside an SSD. It has it’s own cache, it’s own programming etc. So, it is like having a small computer within your computer that allocates space, manages read/write operations. You even have firmware upgrades to your SSD.
That is why just “Price/GB = Value” formula won’t work on SSD.
Now, every company has their way of programming their product. There are various types of NAND modes in SSD like SLC, MLC, TLC, eMLC, QLC.. where SLC is most expensive but very durable and suitable for enterprise/business. QLC being cheapest but less durable.
I have both Samsung 860EVO and Crucial MX500. Below is my analysis:
When you compare it Samsung 860EVO, refer the images that I’ve attached. From the first test,(less memory written for less number of times] it seems Samsung is clear winner.. but hold on…
If you see the next set of images, where more memory is written more number of times, you’ll see there is a significant drop in Samsung’s performance. This is what I mentioned about internal programming of SSD. Where as you’ll see Crucial MX500’s speed is almost same in both cases. (Consistency).
Ofcourse, I’ve also attached HDD performance, clearly it’ll show why you should upgrade to SSD from HDD.
So, my conclusion, –> Samsung SSD are suited for smaller amount memory which are written less frequently.
Crucial MX500 –> Suited for steady, long term, non spiking performance.
Even you can go for ADATA SSDs they are reliable but the cheaper ones will be little slower because of QLC type.
FINAL VERDICT:- For a difference of 1000+ Rupees, if you are a home user with normal gaming and storage stuffs, go for Crucial MX500 SSD. It is actually of high quality and serves the purpose very well.
I have been using both Samsung and Crucial and I didn’t notice any practical difference when copying, reading, writing, gaming etc on both. They are identical in performance for human perception. Crucial is actually better in some aspects.
What to be aware of?
Package comes with a small square shaped extra metal. It was of no use to me.
The firmware on my SSD was already updated and latest.
You can download Crucial SSD software for authentication, future firmware upgrade etc.
You buy 500GB but only get 465GB usable. Well, this is the case with all memory devices and the 7% loss actually helps for random file operations.
