avevo già un ssd m2 ma di 1 o 2gen da 500gb quindi o pensato di fare un update con questo 2TB.
mi sono affidato alla Crucial perchè è un ottimo marchio.
peccato che il sw crucial executive mi da problemi e dice che il driver del mio ssd non è valido, però non mi da la possibiltà di aggiornarlo. boh forse devo aspettare un fix?
per ora cmq non va lento, anzi. però credo che se il driver funzionasse bene andrebbe ancora meglio.
acquisto consigliato comunque. in allegato gli screenshot

Back to back testing on a PCIe4 motherboard with a ryzen 9 5900x, this SSD is slightly slower than a PCIe 3 Samsung 970

The 256Gb SSD in my desktop was struggling space-wise and I couldn’t store the libraries, caches and scratch disks for my Adobe Photoshop and LR products on it, slowing those products down. The Crucial website said this was 100% compatible, but purchased from here for prime delivery benefits.
As I only had 1 M2 slot I had to jump some hoops to install it and clone the operating system to it … the Crucial supplied s/w was useless as it required both SSDs to be installed, so don’t bother unless you have a spare M2 slot or adapter.
My approach from an internet search was:
1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (Free version fine)
2) Run it and Create Restore Media to USB disk (4 or 8Gb fine) or CD, and create a image backup of your SSD (all partitions) to another disk, e.g. USB drive or second internal disk
3) Power Down and disconnect power lead
4) Swap out the old SSD and replace with new one … your computer’s service manual will be useful here!
5) Reconnect and boot from the Restore Media device
6) Restore image to new SSD (all partitions): note on the restore dialog starts, drag each partition to the target manually, this will allow you to adjust the size of the main partition via its partition properties to utilise the larger disk size
7) Exit and once PC shuts down remove the restore media and re-boot.
All being well, you will now be booted from new new, hopefully faster and bigger SSD .. Enjoy!

Preso per ampliare la memoria della ps5, funziona benissimo. Ovviamente non saprò mai se la velocità è come quella dell’hd interno ma l’importante è che sia compatibile al 100% e soprattutto che costa molto meno di altri hd della stessa velocità e capacità.

The (external) delivery package was sealed but upon opening it, the product package was opened; the security seal tampered with. I have been told that the “review should focus on specific features of the product and your experience with it” so, my experience with the product, besides being an empty box was non-existent… Because it was an empty box. The performance of the drive was 0 Mbps read and 0 Mbps write, because the product was non-existent. I can review the product box; it was there with a barcode on it but lighter and emptier than one would expect. The security seal was “used” rather than “new” as advertised.

Ottimo disco, l’ho preso perchè a parità di dimensione e tipologia in quel momento costava qualche decina di € in meno del Samsung 980 Pro. E uso già da anni e con soddisfazione vari SSD Crucial, compreso un mx500 da 2TB preso in accoppiata a questo.

L’ho inserito in un mini pc con processore Intel 1135G7 che supporta lo standard PCIe 4.0 e sì è installato senza il minimo problema nè di montaggio (ha anche la vite inclusa nella confezione) nè di compatibilità hardware/software. Le temperature sembrano restare basse anche senza dissipatore ma c’è da dire che io non sono un grande smattenone.

Ho usato sempre prodotti della Crucial in particolare ssd sata da 500 gb e mi sono trovato benissimo e soddisfatto, putroppo questo modello ho avuto problemi per prima cosa riscalda troppo e non si può toccare rischi di bruciarti, montato sul mio pc della Hp non sempre viene riconosciuto nella gestione dischi e in fase di fare il clone su di esso mi dava errori di settori danneggiati. Sarà un caso ma o chiesto in reso e acquistato un altra ssd stesse caratteristiche di altra marca.

Preso per sostituire come disco di sistema un vecchio SSD 128GB SATA3; non posso dare un giudizio completo, perché è installato su un sistema PCIe 3.0 in previsione di un prossimo upgrade, ma anche così, la velocità misurata con CrystalDiskMark è quattro volte quella del vecchio disco, e si vede.
Comoda la presenza nella confezione, di una vite di fissaggio.
Complessivamente un buon acquisto.

Unità pcie 4.0 veloce ed affidabile con un prezzo allineato ai concorrenti in questa categoria di velocità.
Non capisco perché, a differenza di altri produttori, non offrano una versione con dissipatore integrato date le alte temperature che il modulo raggiunge con un utilizzo intensivo.
Ho dovuto acquistarne uno a parte e montarlo.
In questa fascia di prezzo un dissipatore integrato e fornito dal costeuttore non avrebbe certo inciso sui costi di produzione.

Il mio Samsung da 500 gb nmve dopo 8 mesi si è rotto…ne ho messi due di questa tipologia,devo dire che è superiore,velocità in scrittura e lettura superiori,Crucial non delude mai,ottimo il software di gestione,unica pecca scaldano un pochino le temperature sono sempre intorno ai 57 gradi.

Like all early ps5 adopters I now needed extra storage for my ps5 games as moving them back and forth to my external drive was becoming a pain – luckily Sony have now updated the ps5 drivers to accept certain ssd drives fast enough to be deemed acceptable by them, and this was the cheapest I could find for a 1tb ssd. To be clear you do need a separate SSD heatsink to use it in the ps5 but after doing some homework I found 1 for little more than £10 so even this small outlay made it cheap (although finding both cheap now can be a struggle as soon as there is a sale, both ssd’s and appropriate heatsinks sell out fast!).
After watching a simple guide to installing it & (at first) wrestling with the side of the ps5 to open it up, installation went like a dream, very easy, and the fact my heatsink came with a magnetised screwdriver helped no end.
As soon as my ps5 rebooted I was told I needed to format my new drive which took only a few seconds, and then the 1 time moving of all my games onto the new SSD which didn’t take more than 10 minutes – pretty fast!
Having used it I can’t really see any downsides…. Fast as the internal, allows me more games that load far fast than normal, at the time of buying it was cheaper than any other 1tb drive that was ps5 compatable and so far no problems at all. Perfect.
A great drive for your ps5 but make sure do your homework for the heatsink & installation to save you time & possibly money too.

My self-built PC is getting on a bit now. When I built it, it had components that were at the top end of what was available, and still easily outruns most shop-bought machines today. But that doesn’t mean it’s as quick as I need it to be. I do a lot of photo and video editing, often involving very large file sizes. Although my CPU and graphics card are both still very capable, as file sizes get bigger, just being able to move them to and from the hard drive has proved to be a very frustrating bottleneck where overall speed is concerned.
The smart advice, to speed up any computer, was always to add more memory, but even that only gets you so far. Mechanical hard disk drives have a limit to how quickly they can read and write data, and it is this that is now the primary reason for many PCs being slow. As a result, I’d spent some time looking at SSD drives, and how they could benefit me
In the end, I settled on the Crucial P5 Plus. Partly because it gave me 1TB of storage, and partly because it is PCIe4 compatible. My current motherboard is only PCIe3, but my plan is to upgrade it sooner rather than later, so the P5 Plus gives me some future proofing built in.
Installation was simple, even after fitting a 3rd party heatsink to reduce the heat under stress. Check your motherboard compatibility first, for a couple of reasons. The P5 Plus is a PCIe device, and some SSD cards are SATA. Your motherboard may accept either type, but many don’t, so make sure you have the right one. Also, not all motherboards have the fixing screw and spacer needed to secure the device in place, and Crucial don’t supply them either. Assuming yours does, or you bought it separately, installation is as simple as can be. Simply insert the P5 Plus carefully into the M2 socket, and secure with the screw. The screw needs only to be just tight enough. Over tightening can damage both the SSD and your motherboard.
Once I had migrated my OS to the P5 Plus, it became the time to test how quick it was. I’d done some testing with the existing hard drive, which took over 3 minutes to boot from cold, and just over 2 minutes from sleep, before the PC was fully usable.
With the P5 Plus, the difference is eye watering. Now, from a cold boot, the PC is fully booted and usable in about 35 seconds. From sleep, it takes less than 10 seconds. Starting programmes is now almost instant, and reading/writing even the largest files takes no time at all.
It is no exaggeration to say the P5 Plus has revolutionised the way I work. Had I known it would be this good, I would have upgraded years ago. SSD cards are getting cheaper every day, but you’ll be pushed to find one that offers the same level of value for money that you get with the Crucial P5 Plus. It’s well worth the investment and will make your PC feel like a new machine, for surprisingly little money.
I have a spare PCIe slot on my motherboard, and I plan to add a second P5 Plus to that slot in time. It won’t be as fast as the M2 card, as it will need to share the available bandwidth with the graphics card but, as a non-OS drive, I’m okay with that.
If you are a serious computer user, you need one of these.
