For reference, i’m running an Intel i9 9900k CPU, ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E Motherboard, Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3000MHz DDR4 Memory and an NVMe M.2 SSD.
My Previous GPU was an EVGA RTX 2080 XC (Non-Super).
Neither my CPU nor GPU was overclocked… since I play Call of Duty mostly I compared FPS before and after.
I played on Ultra, DLSS Enabled, RTX On and on 1440p.
On Call of Duty Warzone the results I saw were as followed:
2080: 90 – 110 FPS, Mostly in the 100s
3090: 110 – 120s FPS
On Call of Duty Cold War:
2080: 60 – 90 FPS, Mostly in the 70s
3090: 90 – 100s FPS
To be honest, from a lot of the hype I was expecting it to max out my 144hz monitor… and from other results online, upgrading to an 10900k would only yield a few extra FPS so it’s certainly not holding me back much. I would say if you’re not overclocking and you’re doing 1440p gaming, expect a mild improvement on similar settings, If you’re 1080p gaming, your CPU should be fairly new, at most 2 years old if you don’t want to get bottlenecked. If you’re 4k gaming, you’ll benefit the most from this card…. but of course… naturally 4k is going to be a lower FPS anyway. With that said Microsoft Flight Simulator went from around 30 FPS to 40 – 50 FPS on 1440p Ultra Settings… however your GPU will put out a lot of heat so keep it ventilated!
Overall, if you want to ensure you want to future proof your GPU and have a solid one for many many years, this is a great choice! However manage your expectations, you will see improvements depending on your settings, resolution and CPU… but in general you’re unlikely to see your FPS doubling especially if you’re coming from a 2080 or higher.
P.S Just for reference I bought this directly from Amazon for £1,567.48

We all know that 3090s offer poor incremental performance over 3080s. Than given is the MSI Suprim a good card?
Yes: quiet cooler, fairly decent quality materials, no coil whine. Given the prices of other premium / overbuilt / overclocked 3090s (Asus and EVGA come to mind) this one was okay-ish value at £1,640 if you buy it right on Amazon. Better than paying £1800+ for a Strix or FTW3.
Be warned, it is huge. So make sure your case is big enough. It is about 3.1 slots wide… so effectively 4 PCIe slots will be taken by the cooler. And it is long, so… yeah… case size.

Got it directly from amazon for ~£1500. Probably the closest to MSRP as you can get. Card is really great but it’s an overkill. I do 3d rendering for my job so it does help but still RTX Titan seems like a better option ust for that. However if you will be playing games as well it’s a good multitasker, msi model is nice although I was hoping to get Strix from asus. But I’m happy with it.

IMPORTANT: The GPU comes with a free mouse mat and a GPU support (good quality one) so that’s nice.
Insane performance, matching the insanity required to buy one of these things.
Ignore the reviews by salty kids in ref to scalper prices, i paid £1616 from Amazon and they’re regularly in stock for £1640ish from Amazon.
The GPU is one impressive beast, its heavy and big, 34cm big ooft!
Everything about this GPU is quality. Performance wise clocking up straight to 1980 using the overclock bios.. No mods, did a +75 offset and i was over 2050 solid..brilliant, not bothered about overclocking though.
I have a x570 Mobo + Ryzen 5800X + 32GB DDR4 3733 @ C15.
The GPU barely hits 70oc and is quiet as hell (even though im not in the quiet bios). There really is plenty of room for overclocking if you need to (you don’t).
Rough FPS at QHD:
CoD Black Ops Cold War (4k Textures, Ultra, Quality DLSS).
NO RT: 200-260fps
Ultra RTX: 100-140fps
World of Warcraft (FULL Ultra, Ardenweald)
NO RT: 120-180fps
ULTRA RTX: 90-140fps
ULTRA RTX @+200% Render Scale (5k+) 50-90fps
Red Dead Redemption SP
MAX ALL SETTINGS 78-140fps
If you want proper benchmarks then go get a review, this thing is a beast though, it’s running RDR2 faster than my 2080 and that was on mostly low medium settings. The game looks stunning with no stutter at all, shocking impressive.
My only niggle was there was damage to the box (even though it was double boxed by amazon) and there was absolutely no security seal on the GPU box from MSI so not entirely sure if it should be like that, also I couldn’t download this dragon center garbo to change the rbg (which is really nice) but I’d prefer solid red.
If you get a 3080/3090 do not be tempted to underclock like many YT videos recommend, as soon as you start with Raytracing it’ll cause crashes. I had planned on doing this but further research flagged this issue up.
Top GPU at a price from Amazon lower than the zotacs etc that don’t even come close!

I have this installed in an o11d xl and temps at max load are about 70c, this is in silent mode, with a performance bios available if you need it cooler.
GPU is pretty quiet, there is some coil whine, but I dont think it will bother me. With my CPU (5800x) being much hotter, it seems noise in my system depends on how CPU bound the game is.
Only had it long enough to play Control and RDR2 and in both games this maxes it out at high FPS.
1440p@120fps in RDR2 max settings or 4k with optimized settings.
Of course a 3080 would make more sense if there was more availability, but the quietness, coolness and the 24GB extra vram is a nice bonus!

la scheda video è andata a farsi benedire dopo neanche due mesi…..
