Silicon Power SSD 1TB 3D NAND SATA III 2.5″

L’ho installato con capacità 1TB al posto di un Samsung EVO 840 256GB sempre su interfaccia Sata III (6 GB/s) e mantiene le sue promesse, con velocità testate in seq. read 550 MB/s e seq. write sui 480-500 MB/s, come da specifiche dichiarate da Silicon Power. Nell’utilizzo è sembrato decisamente più veloce del Samsung 840 ed infatti quest’ultimo (che risale comunque al 2015) in scrittura sequenziale dava nei benchmark sui 250 MB/s. Lo consiglio a tutti quelli che non hanno uno slot M.2 per gli NVMe o che non possono adattare uno slot PCIe 4x (in quest’ultimo caso, le velocità raggiungibili sarebbero circa il triplo).

C’è molto poco da dire i risultati parlano da soli, posso solo dare ulteriori informazioni.

In sostanza questo SSD è stato usato per un anno come sola archiviazione di videogiochi, quindi no Windows o programmi (il che ha assolutamente aiutato alla salute del disco).

Quindi se state cercando un disco capiente, prestante, affidabile ed a buon prezzo per videogiochi o storage di massa questa è la scelta giusta, prodotto consigliato!

Ich wollte diese mir unbekannte Platte im Vergleich zur Crucial MX 500 1 TB testen. Preisunterschied aktuelle ca. 20 Euro. Die Silicon Power schlägt sich dabei sehr gut. Beim Schreiben ist sieh im direkten Vergleich marginal langsamer (389 MB/s), beim Lesen praktisch manchmal sogar etwas drüber (421 MB/s). Zur Info: Die Crucial macht bei mir (immer im selben Gehäuse) an USB 3.1 (gen 2) 406 MB/s schreiben und 418 MB/s lesen. Dies sind einfache Mittelwerte für 5 GB Dateien.

Was mich aber überrascht hat und persönlich nun auch stört ist, dass die Platte deutlich mehr Geräusche macht als die Crucial. Man solle ja bei einer SSD eigentlich annehmen, dass keine Geräusche entstehen. Aber beide Typen machen leise “elektrische” Geräusche. Die Silicon Power ist aber beim Lesen (und nur da) für mich dann tatsächlich Kausal “hörbar”. Wir reden hier aber immer noch von Lautstärken die den meisten gar nicht auffallen würde. Das heisst in einem völlig ruhigen Raum, hört man das Laufwerk “rascheln”. Ähnlich wie manche Netzteile leise “rascheln”.

Non sto a farvi conti, su velocità ecc, perché oramai, andando su NVMe si va decisamente molto più veloci.

Ma se vi serve un SSD sata da mettere in un notebook o pc che richiede ancora questo tipo di prodotti, sicuramente con i Silicon Power non sbagliate.

Ne ho comprati non pochi negli anni per vari PC e notebook e a differenza di altre case molto più blasonate, questi vanno sempre. E ribadisco SEMPRE!!!

Quando ho ancora necessita di comprare questo tipo di SSD per amici o altri, non vado da nessun altra parte.

L’SSD in questione, in realtà, non sarebbe malvagio: il rapporto qualità/prezzo ci sarebbe pure, così come anche l’ampia cache interna, da SSD di fascia di costo ben superiore.
I problemi seri cominciano se dovete installarci macOS 10.3 in poi: lì la procedura diventa infernale, e l’installazione da zero del macOS è praticamente impossibile.
Presumo sia colpa del firmware interno dell’SSD e di qualche tipo di contrasto con l’EFI della Apple.
Ne ho comperati già un bel po’, e su cinque, tre sono dovuti tornare indietro per essersi fritti dopo poche ore d’utilizzo (non dopo aver penato per installare il macOS).
Di contro, i due installati con Win 10 non hanno dato problemi, quindi il sospetto che sia un’incompatibilità con l’EFI della Apple è forte.
Se avete dunque un Mac e volete potenziarlo con un SSD, vi suggerisco di comperare altre e ben più note marche, spendendo quei 10 Euro in più, ma con la sicurezza di non avere mai problemi.

I was having trouble with an old WD drive which I had plugged into my Xbox One, alongside a Seagate drive, where games where stuttering and freezing, particularly in online gameplay, so I started looking for a Solid State Drive. Having looked at several others of smaller capacity for about the same price, I stumbled upon this little 1TB gem and thought I would give it a go.

First of all, it is securely packaged, arriving in a blister pack and also amazon outer packaging. Once opened it was a breeze to slot into my USB SATA docking bay. I initially plugged it into a laptop to format it and test that it all worked correctly, and it did, so I then plugged it into the Xbox. The Xbox recognized it immediately and allowed me to format the drive for use with games. This took a little time to do, this was down to the Xbox and the aging docking bay, rather than a fault of the drive , and once it was completed, it allowed me to access the drive without any problems and transfer things to it a much faster speed than the old WD and Seagate drives. The drive has also improved the stuttering and freezing problems which I was encountering, and so far I have not seen any issues of this re-occurring, and all games and apps that I have transferred from the old drives to the new SSD appear to be loading faster and running a lot smoother.

In summary, when i need another SSD, I will certainly consider another one of this brand (possibly at a higher capacity depending on what I need it for) as so far it offers serious Bang-For-Buck performance and capacity
