Sul mio pc fisso montavo un hard disk da 2TB della Western Digital,siccome ci metteva davvero tanto ad avviare Windows 10 e a svolgere i vari compiti,ho deciso di sostituire l’hard disk da 2TB con un ssd,che a parere di tutti è mille volte più veloce del hard disk normale. Beh devo dire che è davvero veloce,si monta facilmente e il mio pc fisso adesso è velocissimo nell’aprire le varie applicazioni e nel avviare windows 10,consiglio questo ssd senza pensarci nemmeno. Ottimo prodotto. In allegato troverete lo screen della velocità di questo ssd in letture e in scrittura.

I bought this to speed up a Compaq CQ58 laptop that had a 500GB (HGST) conventional drive.
The drive came as SSDs do, in a box so I fitted it to a USB caddy for migration (I’ve done this before so I have a suitable USB disk drive caddy).
I downloaded and installed the WD migration software (Acronis True Image WD Edition) and ran it.
It required a WD drive to install (the installed drive was HGST [now owned by WD] and that didn’t do it !).
Fortunately I had a spare USB port and a spare WD USB drive so that problem could be overcome.
Once I ran the software it started but wanted the computer rebooted then never ran.
This seems a common problem (from the Acronis forums) but other than buying the newer version of the Acronis software no obvious fix.
I tried WD support and spoke to a very pleasant person for about 30 minutes. The conclusion seemed to be that it was a known problem, I had tried the obvious fixes (enabling USB boot and disabling secure boot in the BIOS) but there was little they could suggest.
I then looked for other data migration software and found Macrium Reflect Free.
Fortunately this worked faultlessly and after about two and a half hours my data had been copied.
I swapped the built in hard drive for the newly cloned SSD and the computer booted up without any issues.
I’m very pleased with the SSD (possibly because WD bought someone else’s SSD brand) but it’s such a shame that WD support it with flawed software. It appears that the bundled Acronis software is out of date which is why the paid edition was said to work.
I’ve used the WD software in the past and it has worked (from a failed WD drive to a new drive) but this was all very disappointing.

Il prodotto è valido e senza sorprese. Avrei dovuto riceverlo venerdì, secondo Amazon, ma fino alle 17,00 niente. Allora sono andato a tracciare il mio pacco e con gran sorpresa ho visto che Bartolini prevedeva la consegna per venerdì, entro le 20,00!!! Dal momento che a me l’hardware ordinato mi serviva urgentemente, e contavo di passare il sabato a montarlo e testarlo, sono rimasto buono buono, solo solo, in ufficio ad aspettare. Macchè, non si è visto nessuno! Il pacchetto è arrivato solo stamattina, lunedì. Mi chiedo: ma allora Prime a cosa serve?

I came within a whisker of spending £600 on rebuilding my 7 year old self built PC as it was becoming increasingly, painfully slow. After testing everything I could with free tools it seemed most likely to be that both HDD’s were beginning to fail. So I thought I’d try a SATA SSD first, on the basis that if that didn’t fix it I could at least re-use it as a second drive if I then went ahead with a new board, memory, CPU and m.2 SSD.
In the event it’s worked a treat. My PC now boots up to windows login in about 20 seconds and applications like outlook, excel, browsers, open up more or less instantaneously. I’d have been happy with that result from the £600 spend and doubt I’d have even noticed anything quicker. The only games I still play are ancient and undemanding, so unless something else wears out I’d hope to have the effect of a new pc for maybe another 2 or 3 years by which time everything I’d have bought today will be cheap as chips.
As for the SSD itself, I’m afraid I can’t really tell you anything useful that would help differentiate between this one and another one. I’ve used WD forever and it’s creditable that the HDD drives this has replaced were 7 and 18 years old respectively.
Fitting it was of course a doddle, if you can replace a fuse you can replace a hard drive, just remember to check whether you need a 2.5 to 3.5 inch bracket to mount it in the case as older cases often don’t have 2.5 inch drive bays.

Il 90 percento dei miei hard disk sono della WD, da almeno 15 anni, quindi dato che vanno bene, non cambio marca, ecco perchè ho scelto questo modello. Il supporto è arrivato in confezione originale sigillata, con l’adesivo di garanzia (da togliere prima dell’ installazione). Mi serviva per espandere lo spazio del sistema operativo (il disco C), un SSD da 120GB. All’ interno del case si badi di aver collegato, oltre al disco C (origine) ovviamente… solo il nuovo disco (destinazione). Questo per evitare confusione poichè se il sistema vede altri hard disk, un utente poco esperto potrebbe fare confusione quando gli viene chiesto di scegliere la destinazione. Con Easeus Partition Manager ho creato su chiavetta USB il WinPE , poi col software ho comandato la migrazione del sistema operativo sul nuovo disco. L’ operazione chiede il riavvio , poi parte il WinPE e in pochi minuti il lavoro è fatto. Poi a computer spento, si toglie il vecchio C e si collega al suo posto il nuovo supporto di sistema. Al riavvio il nuovo SSD prenderà il nome C e tutto funzionerà come prima.

Ho sempre usato SSD Samsung per aggiornare sistemi (Desktop o portatili) con dischi rigidi meccanici e non ho mai avuto alcun problema. Il software di clonazione fornito da Samsung ha sempre lavorato ottimamente, rendendo la clonazione del sistema un’operazione estremamente semplice.
Con questo disco, invece, il software fornito dalla Western Digital mi ha creato un sacco di probemi. Una volta installato e avviato, si imposta la clonazione del disco esistente su quello SSD: il programma chiede di riavviare il computer (perchè non riesce a lavorare direttamente da Windows). Il problema è che al riavvio il sistema si pianta e non riesce più a riavviare il software di clonazione. Bisogna spegnere nuovamente e poi il sistema si riavvia normalmente, ma la clonazione non si riesce a fare.
Alla fine, con altro software, sono riuscito a trasferire l’immagine del disco fisso (con nessun software sono riuscito a fare la clonazione diretta). Però le prestazioni non mi sembrano migliorare così tanto come mi è sempre successo con gli SSD Samsung (non ho ancora avuto modo di fare un test di velocità).
Per la mia esperienza non consiglio questi dischi.

Got the SSD. Took me a few days to get a HDD holder to try to clone this drive. SSD was not being recognized by PC when connected to the HDD holder. Needed to isolate the problem. So took out the original HDD from my laptop and tested with the HDD holder – and it was being recognized! So the problem is with the SSD – but not able to return it now because there is no option to return it!!!!!!!!! Help !!!!!!!!!!
Amazon told me that manufacturer would be able to help. Called WD and they did an RMA process for me since there is a 3 yr warranty on the SSD. Had to drop off the bad drive at their local center – they tested and confirmed it was bad. A replacement will be mailed to me in a week or so – but it will be a refurbished drive and not a new one!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hoping that the replacement comes in working condition.
A bitter experience overall – paying retail price to finally get a used drive!!! Thanks Amazon! – for tossing me over to the manufacturer.
Update (20 Nov 18)
WD sent me a replacement, which looks like a new drive (not refurbished, as I was told by their support team). I cloned my HDD and installed it. laptop working much faster now. I am upgrading the review to a 4 star from a 1 star because of my experience dealing with WD. Despite the early pain, the whole WD replacement experience was rather smooth – I want to show my appreciation for this.

Installato su un notebook un pò datato ha subito rivitalizzato le prestazioni. Adesso un po’ che necessitava di molto tempo ad accendersi è tornato vitale e veloce. Inoltre tutte le prestazioni del sistema operativo (win 10) adesso sono veloci e danno la sensazione di non avere a che fare con un pc datato.

Acquistato per rinnovare un PC portatile non recentissimo montandoci un disco a stato solido. Ho sostituito il vecchio HDD 2.5” originale di 500 GB WD Blue magnetico da 5400 rpm (ora troppo lento con Windows 10 in aggiunta a processore datato!) con questo nuovo WD Blue SSD, sempre con interfaccia SATA, di altrettanta capacità.
Backup con Acronis prima di smontare l’HDD precedente su disco esterno USB e tutto perfetto al primo colpo con il Restore per la clonazione sul nuovo SSD montato. Differenza epocale nei tempi già dal primo avvio e nel normale utilizzo del sistema operativo. Dal vecchio disco quasi sempre stressato al 100% (guardando le Performance del Task Manager) al nuovo SSD mediamente impegnato all’8%. PC rinato come previsto!

Ich stand vor der Entscheidung, ob ich meinen PC ersetzen muss. Ich habe nun doch nur die alte magnetische Platte durch diese SSD ersetzt und den Arbeitsspeicher ausgetauscht. Nach Neuinstallation des PC’s ist er sehr viel schneller.
Die SSD und auch der Arbeitsspeicher im heruntergefahrenen (ausgeschalteten) PC austauschen. Beides wurde gleich erkannt. Falls die SSD nicht erkannt wird, das UEFI/Bios auf AHCI umstellen.
Tipps:
– Wenn nicht schon geschehen, die Benutzeranmeldung des alten Rechners auf ein Microsoftkonto umstellen.
– Die notwendige Windows-Installations CD mit dem Media Creation Tool für Windows erstellen. Die neue Installation übernimmt dann die Lizenz der alten.
– Die Windowsanmeldung im neu installieren Windows wie vorher auch über das alte Microsoft Konto erstellen, damit auch der Zugriff auf die alte Platte klappt.
– Die alte Platte ohne Formatierung mit einem zweiten SATA-Kabel in den neu installierten PC hängen.
– Die Daten der alten Platte sind im Pfad des Benutzers noch zu finden. Jetzt nur noch die Pfade (Dokumente, Bilder, Musik,…) des neuen Windows auf die magnetische Platte verlinken, fertig. Alle Programme werden nun auf der SSD gespeichert (damit sie schnell starten), alle Daten liegen weiter noch auf der alten Platte.
– Sollte die SSD mal den Geist aufgeben, kann man die alte Platte wieder umstöpseln und schon hat man wieder das alte Windows mit allen Daten.
– Da auch magnetische Datenträger mal kaputt gehen können, an die Datensicherung denken oder bei ausreichendem Platz auf die SSD spiegeln.

ASUSのノートパソコンのHDD換装に使いました。OSはWindows10です。先に蓋をあけてWDの500Gが入っていたのを確認しましたので、同一のメーカーにしました。使い慣れたEaseUS Todo Backup（Free)で軽い気持ちで”クローン”作成にしましたが、思わぬところに落とし穴がありました。開始してからどうも不安になり一旦キャンセルしてネットで調べたところ「MBRが正常に出来ていないと失敗する」ようで、よく見るとこちらのSSDは新しいタイプのパーティション”GPT”になっていました。これを”MBR”にしないといけないのでひと手間かかりました。
今回は親切な方の解説入りのクローンの仕方を読めたので、助かりましたが購入する前の情報にはこの点の記載は無く、注意が必要と思います。他社の製品がどちらのフォーマットになっているのかもわかりませんでした。
古くからのWindowsユーザーですが新しい製品には疎いのでこんな落とし穴にも気づかないものですね。
まだ交換して間もないので性能についてのレビューはありません。
