Yes its a big CPU but its fast and runs games and most anything you throw at it, I would recommend you purchase a Enermax cooler on it as they work really well in keeping it cool.

Il Threadripper si sceglie per un motivo: creare una workstation. Questo non esclude il gaming, ma non è sicuramente il settore per cui è stata creata questa CPU.
Ho scelto il 1900X perché dovendo creare una workstation da zero ho deciso di partire col modello base, avendo poi la possibilità in futuro di effettuare un possibile upgrade fino al 2990WX, quando il prezzo subirà una flessione, grazie al chipset X399 compatibile.
Oltre a questo il numero di linee PCI-E è enormemente più alto rispeto ad un 2700X, di conseguenza la scelta è stata…

Biggest CPU box I’ve ever seen but then it’s the biggest CPU…..
Not straightforward to unpack. It wasn’t obvious to me that the unpack instructions would be on the inside of the tear off strip to open the pack.
I had to google how to get into the box, but at least you know your CPU is well protected. I would recommend people google the videos on how to get the CPU out of the box and how to fit the CPU as it’s very different to everything else I’ve ever done. I’ve been building PCs since the mid 1980s, have probably built about a thousand…

Seul défaut : son TDP à 180W, à part ça c’est un monstre qui va dévorer vos tâches intensives, j’étais pourtant un aficionado de Intel, ce qui m’a fait basculer : le nombre de LANE PCIe, son prix et ses performances. Intel a bâclé sa dernière plateforme pour Enthousiastes, tant pis pour eux… sans compter qu’ils viennent de reculer la sortie du 10nm… je regrette pas : AMD à repris la main, pour combien de temps c’est une autre histoire 🙂

Da quando sono usciti i Ryzen avevo intenzione di aggiornare il mio PC (con FX-9590), ma venuto finalmente il momento di farlo mi sono trovato a dover scegliere tra il Ryzen 7 e il più recente Threadripper. Alla fine ho deciso di spendere qualcosa in più e passare direttamente al nuovo socket TR4. Molti si chiederanno , ha senso prendere questo processore , quando si puo’ avere il ryzen 7 2700X allo stesso prezzo , anzi a meno ? In realta questi 2 processori hanno una filosofia diversa , anche se hanno pressoche’le stesse prestazioni.
